Best modem / router combination?
Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my network hardware. I wanted to have an ADSL modem / n Wireless / Gigabit combo Switch unit – but the only one there (Belkin Vision) does not work in my country – the Czech Republic. So I have to do it in two parts. Therefore, I a) Get a basic adsl modem, which then connects to a gigabit / wireless router N b) Get a modem router Wireless N Gigabit Switch and separate c) Get a modem Gigabit (If exisits!) And separated by cable performance is more important to me that wireless technology because usually I'm connected, and the transfer of large number of large files.
I went with a modem, a Gigabit router (RVS4000), and a wireless access point. The cost is almost the same, but through Divic the execution of three individuals, they can and have changed out several parts of the network without changing the others. My cable company is upgrading DOCSIS2 modems to DOCSIS3. Since mine is apart, I simply swap the modem. No other changes were necessary. This configuration also allows me to multiple wireless access points and N. GBA
