why wont my modem connect to the internet?
I recently bought a belkin wireless n router, and i set it up (connected the wires, not the instalation software). it worked without the seup just fine butt i still wanted to go ahead with the full disc installation so i could set up things such as connection name, security etc. i run the disc and it has an easy instillation function. i run the easy insllation functon and in its first stage it says unable to communicate with router. I tried this step over 10 times with no changes. then i went to he troubleshooting guide , and i read that id have to restart the modem and router. After restarting my router via the reset button on the back of the router, though from then on my internet led has not lit up on the router. So what happned, i reset the modem and i lost my internet connection, butt why?. plz help Also , how can i regain my internet conection
ok first off every thing you want to do using the software you don’t need the software to do. so I would get rid of it. don’t use it. Start over turn modem off router off computer off. then turn modem on router then computer. see if that gets you back onto the interwebs. then go to the router manufactures website. it should have a pdf that tells you how to log into the router and do all the stuff you want to do like turn on security etc. normally its 192.168.1.1 and then a username of admin nd a blank pw
