Problems with Belkin N Wireless USB Adapter F5D8053?
OK so I’ve been having this issue and it seems to happen about once a day. (random times though) It works just fine for a while, then it disconnects from my network. If I open up the available network list, no networks are listed. If I go into the control panel and open up my wireless card, it says the device is working properly. Disabling and re-enabling it seems to fix the problem. Until the next day at least. I’ve tried re-installing it and have the latest drivers. The router is my roommate’s so I don’t know it’s exact specifications, but its a Linksys. He also uses a Belkin wireless card and doesn’t have any issues so I don’t think it’s a compatibility issue between the card and the router. My problems are obviously manageable right now, but pretty annoying so if anybody has any ideas I’d love hearing them.
My system is an HP Pavilion d5100t running Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit). The F5D8053 (supposedly) supports 64 bit versions of Windows.
If you still have the box the Belkin F5D8053 came in, check the version number. The latest version is 5000, and according to Belkin support, they have no drivers currently for 64-bit Windows Vista or for any other operating systems, for that matter. If your version of the F5D8053 is 1000, 3000 or 4000, you can download the latest drivers from Belkin’s site and it may address your issue. My version is 5000, and I’m completely dumbfounded that a company can manufacture and sell a product like this and not provide drivers! That’s like selling a car and not providing an engine to make it go
My system is using a Vista driver that causes the adapter to bomb out several times a day.
