Dell and printers – 10 points?

Hello. I have a Dell XPS M1530 laptop and a HP Photosmart C4385 All-in-One Printer. After installing the CD, I'm trying to get the printer to connect to my wireless home network, but it seems to work with my Belkin N1 router. If I can turn off the router, the printer connected to the network, when I put it again, the printer stops working. I can always use the USB port to connect to the printer while my router is running, but for convenience, How I can fix this? Thanks!

It is possible that the default printer IP address is the same as the router. You have to give the printer a static IP address. This can be accomplished by telling the router if you see it this MAC address (MAC address of the printer) out issuse this address IP. Two reasons you may want this configuration. 1. To avoid duplication of IP addresses for the device. 2. It is easier for printers to map for directions IP vs using DeviceName – also known as host names. that is, share the printer Last you might want to check the router DHCP table when you turn the printer and see if it picks up the printers. If no luck contacting HP support good technology and how to fix them walking thorugh. Good luck!
