Ok I have a Belkin Wireless G router and laptop card? Now …?
I set up and connected all router with it and seems to be working well. It's a Wireless G Router. I have a laptop recently, and the laptop already has a wireless card in it, its 802.11b, but the router said its compatiable with it. The laptop is Windows 2000 professional I think. The computer I'm running the router is Windows XP. I really do not think that makes a difference. So I turned and the laptop around, hoping for an Internet connection, and there is no Internet connection. Is there something I'm not doing or doing wrong? Or is there something else I need to buy? Please help, thanks in advance.
Make sure you have the router set to mixed mode B / G. It is probably set to G only. To do this, go into Internet Explorer. In the URL address bar, type 192.168.2.1 and hit enter. If you have not set a password, just click on Login. From there you will have to navigate through the router properties to find the appropriate attribute. In addition, when you start the laptop, you must enter in wireless properties and manually connect the laptop to the network for the first time. After each restart the other side of the laptop, should automatically connect to the network.
