I bought a wireless router, but have problems. Web page user guide is no help.?
I'm down visiting my family for Week Santa and last night my boyfriend and I went to the local Wal-Mart and picked up a wireless router to the desktop computer have to connect through my computer I brought laptop. It is a Belkin Wireless G router but my computer cd-tray will not read the installation CD. Not even appeared in My Computer. Device manager says nothing is wrong. So we tried to download the program from its website. Do not run. He gave me an error saying that the system lacked a DLL. I think ISP is Comcast and I'm not so sure in all related detail, but I wondered what I could do to one side of a new re-install for windows. What would be a hassle and not worth the time and effort, and we do not live here and only visit occasionally. Any ideas on what I can do? If not what is fine. You could try a new facility next time you come down. Thanks guys for any help in advance. =)
I would bet that the software / CD comes with the router is not compatible with your operating system. Take the back of the router for a refund and go to a computer store and buy a new router or ask a Linkskys computer components department recommendation, make sure that comes with the CD and install and test. It has also set up both computers to the network? You can buy a telephone line to connect the two line adapter and connect both of the same phone line for internet access. Hope this helps
