Wireless router setup?
The ethernet port on my laptop is not working, so the only way currently You can access the Internet is through the USB port. The wireless router I bought only has ethernet ports on it. I spoke with a guy from the computer store I was saying that there is a way to configure it without having to connect the router to the computer. Said all he had to do was connect the router to the DSL modem with cable ethernet that came with some kind and then in the generic IP address for the Belkin router. In addition, the router What I have is a Belkin brand, but when I called the customer service number that comes in the box, took me to an answering service Belkin, so I assume Ativa Belkin are one and the same. Please also I know if I'm wrong on this assumption. Can someone please help me with this?! Any suggestions are certainly appreciated.
Your laptop needs to have wireless, or WiFi card. Then you need to configure your wireless router to DCHP if not already come that way. You should be fine then.
