How can I connect a wireless router to my computer?

This is for the computer saavy. I recented purchased a Belkin wireless router. The problem is that I have to connect one end of the cable into my dsl router (no problem) and the other end into the telephone splitter (problem). I need a cable that has a dsl plug on one end and a regular phone plug on the other. Is there any such thing, and if so where can I purchase it?

Sounds like you’re trying to connect it improperly. The DSL modem has a standard phone jack (called an RJ-11) on the back. You want to plug the phone line coming out of the wall into this.

The DSL modem also has an Ethernet jack (called an RJ-45) on the back. You’ll want to connect an Ethernet cable to this, and plug the other end of the cable into the Internet or Ethernet port on the router. I don’t know exactly what it’s called on your router, but if you look at the back of the router, there should be a set of 4 RJ-45 ports, and then one off by itself. Plug the wire coming from the DSL modem into this one by itself.

If you want to connect any PCs via cable to the router, then you would plug an Ethernet cable into one of the port numbered 1 through 4, and plug the other end of this cable into the network jack on the back of your computer.
