Why can I not access websites by their domain name but only by the site’s IP address?
Sometimes, when I try to access a website by typing in the domain, the sites do not load, but when I type in the site’s IP address into the address bar, the site will load. I’ve tried this with both internet explorer and firefox and I get the same results. I have cable internet and I’m using a belkin wireless router. Sometimes when I’m on msn, I get the following errors even though I’m still connected to the internet and MSN:

I think this may have something to do with a DNS server or something. I’m not really sure, but I haven’t had this problem until the last couple of weeks. It just started happening randomly. Also, sometimes, I can access sites with the domain name. I also don’t have any firewalls enabled.
I would think that since you have no firewall installed or running that your computer has become severly infected with malware.
