belkin wireless router installation download

by admin on March 15, 2010

why is my internet slow?

its been slow ever since its been connected. i have set it all up correctly by following the instructions on the installation cd. it is unlimited and is ment to be fast. but the download speed is 27.5kb at the most.

and i have recently connected a belkin g wireless router, and since then my downloads have been stopping and the internet has been disconnecting.

i have checked all the cables and they are fine. i have virus protection. 60gb left from a 75gb hard drive. how do i make it fast? and so downloads dont stop? what about if i disconnect it then install the internet with the cd first and then the router with its cd? if so, how?

Firstly follow the guide below to check its not a virus or spyware causing your slow connection, if theres no change disable your software firewall and test the speed, if its not that try setting your connection speed to 100mp do this by:

Right Clicking on your LAN connection
Properties
Configure
Advanced Tab
Highlight the Speed and Duplex option
Set it to 100 using the drop down menu

How to remove Fake Software, Pop-Ups, Spyware, Trojans and Viruses:

Download, install, update and scan your computer with both Malwarebytes and SuperantiSpyware, delete what ever they find, if this fails to completely remove the virus/spyware download then update Avast and run a boot scan (click schedule boot-time scan and restart your PC), all the software below is free and safe to use.

Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php

SuperantiSpyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/

Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

To protect your PC in the future you’ll need to install anti-virus software and a firewall, id recommend using Avast and Comodo Pro firewall both are very effective and completely free, you should also switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE as its much safer and a lot easier to use.
