belkin wireless router ip address conflict

Port forwarding for Utorrent with Belkin wireless router (connected to Actiontec GT701 DSL router)?

Which one needs the port forwarding enabled? I cannot get it to work at all – Do they both have to be on the same subnet? I tried to change the subnet but I think they were conflicting and when I typed in the new IP address for either one I couldnt get into the router settings. I know how to do port forwarding I am just having some trouble. I have already been to port forwarding site.

I would suggest configuring your Belkin wireless route to get it’s address from the Actiontec. If you cannot do that, then I suggest configuring your Actiontec to be the .1 of whatever subnet it is giving out via DHCP, make the Belkin .2, and adjust the DHCP range to be from .3 to however many clients you would like to be able to connect to your wireless network.

As far as port forwarding is concerned, yes, you will need to enable that to use utorrent (or any other bittorent client). The utorrent settings section has a utility that chooses a port randomly and can then tell you if that port is open or not. Find that setting, record the port utorrent is using, then go back to your Belkin and configure port forwarding to all addresses on your network subnet. You will need to configure it from any outside IP:Port to any inside IP:.

I have pretty much the same setup at home, and it works fine.
