Network IP address not being renewed. (assigned?)?
This is the message I get now when I go on my desktop. I am hardwired into a Belkin router. I reset the router and DSL modem but still nothing. I have 2 other computers on the network (1 wireless & 1 wired) and they both work fine. Could it be software problem? Can I reload win XP or somehow get all the network settings back to a “default” state? HELP PLEASE!! What can I try?

Not sure if this will help. You may need to run the Winsock fix or repair the TCP/IP stack.

Open up a cmd prompt
start > run > cmd
Type these commands
netsh winsock reset catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
wdw
router
