Connecting to internet via Belkin modem/router HELP!!?

After many many issues I am now to a point where I can attempt to connect my modem/router to the internet. However, guess what, its not happening.

It appears clear that I have established a connection from my PC to my router as data is transmitting between the two and it says connected.

The hardware displays a power light, wireless signal light, and a solid ADSL light.

I have confirmed my username and password with my ISP letter by letter. Now when I enter these details into my router page it does away and saves to the router and comes back with no internet connection, the internet light remains off on the hardware and when I check the ‘security log’ I have the following (read from b):

08/01/2003 11:38:20 PPPoE send PADI
08/01/2003 11:38:15 PPPoE send PADI
08/01/2003 11:38:10 PPPoE send PADI
08/01/2003 11:38:05 PPPoE send PADI
08/01/2003 11:38:05 ADSL Media Up !
08/01/2003 11:37:02 192.168.2.2 login success

Better than the log is to run the diagnostic routine. it looks as if you are using the wrong protocol somewhere, but some ISPs have started using non-standard combinations of settings. Contact Belkin, in these cases they have a firmware upgrade, they give you a link. You will need to connect your original modem for this.
