I am having issues with my Xbox 360 when I try to play on Xbox live?
Whenever I try to play on Xbox Live I tend to have periods where I lag out almost completely. I am running a Wireless Router but I have plugged my 360 into it using your standard cord. I’ve gone through Microsoft Support’s online guide and it didn’t help me so I am hoping someone here can. By the way the router is a Belkin and its one of those that is supposed to be built for gaming.
Gonna list what I have done so far,
Reset both the modem and router for thirty seconds each.
Followed Microsoft Support’s guideline for fixing this problem.
Hit it with a stick.
Best bet I would say is to try and port forward your xbox for xbox live.
If you know how to access your router configuration page you can try forwarding both the 3074 and 80 ports to your xbox.
edit: hard for me to explain so here is how i have mine set up. To find your xbox’s ip address simply go to network settings on the xbox.

Also since you have your xbox plugged directly into the router you can try enabling an internet access priority by selecting the QoS tab (this is all based off of a linksys router so sorry if its not labeled that) select the category “ethernet port” then select whichever port your xbox is located on.
Set it to High Priority and try that.
