wireless router – quality and security of belkin g wireless router?
my boyfriend bought this router for 29.96 at walmart the other day because our old linksys died, i been reluctant to install it. we have a high speed internet connection (20 mb download) and need a router to connect our old mac running os 9, an old 986 pc running xp, my new wifi capable laptop that is actually current technology (vista), and utilize the wifi signal to sync his zune and use wifi on my 3g iphone. after researching, perhaps we should spend more on the router to maximize our technology. what do you think? i want to spend the least amount ’cause money is tight. some reports say the belkin is fickle and others say its great. i’d appreciate any input… obviously, i am concerned about the security aspects people have regarding the belkin, but i am fairly adept at computers and can figure a lot out on my own. help?!?
Belkin is a widely used wireless router brand, it is very reliable because they last a long time and have pretty good range. The security of a wireless router cant really be confirmed by the brand, the security depends on your computer’s Anti-Virus Software and Firewall. Belkin in my opinion is a very good brand and i recommend using it.
