How I can set up a wireless internet connection for my laptop?
I do not want to connect through my pc, I just want my laptop setup so you can use anywhere in the house. My laptop is wireless enabled, and have bought a modem Belkin router. My modem broadband Wanadoo is old and only has 1 USB cable. I have tried to establish all the connections using cables that came with the router, but my not be recorded as laptop online – do I have to connect my modem? And I have to ask my ISP to send me a new modem to do this? I really need step by step instructions ….?!!
You have your router to connect to the phone line and your desktop PC and connect the power switch on turn on your laptop, be sure to click the button to activate the wireless card, look at the bottom right of the screen you should see either a single computer or two computers, right click on one of these with the mouse and look in your network, click to highlight it then click connect, must be connected to the home network, security can not be enabled if you install JST, so you need to enter the router menu typeing http://192.168.–.– search router's manual for this number, once your in then click on the wireless setup WPA and have then asked to enter a password be sure to write this, now when you log on to the network with the laptop that prompts you to enter the password, type in the box now have a secure home network.
