HELP!! I’m trying to install a wireless router?
(Belkin). I’ve installed it on 3 of my other computers, but on this one (which is brand new) when I click setup(install) it immediately pops up with “Unable to load DLL” It doesn’t say anything else…doesn’t tell me WHAT dll, that’s all I get. I’ve searched endlessly for this. I haven’t downloaded any new software or installed any hardware other than the printer. How can I tell why it’s unable to load this %$#$% DLL file?
I am not sure what software you are installing. Is it for the router or the wireless adapter? I am assuming that you are using software that came with the adapter. My advice is to always get the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website instead of relying on what comes with the product since packaged software usually does not any updates. I would also advise, if you haven’t already done so, to update the drivers on your other PC’s as well as the firmware for your router. This is what I usually recommend for all devices on a periodic basis in order to stay up to date. I am also wondering why your PC didn’t automatically detect your router. Most computers will just automatically detect the router as soon as you insert the adapter without needing additional software. On all the PC’s I ever setup wireless networking, I have never had to install software for the adapter. These devices are usually plug n play and hot swapable.
