belkin wireless router signal extender

How can i get my wireless connection farther for xbox 360?

I have a relatively small house(1500-2000 square feet) but lots and lots of walls to interfere with the signal in it. It is also very old(100 years old). My router is in the top back/right corner of the house while my xbox 360 is on the bottom front/left corner of the house. It never can’t even get a bar of signal from our connection. Any ideas on what to do? How can I expand my wireless range so I can play without lag on my 360? Would something like this work, http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F5D7132-Wireless-G-Universal-Extender/dp/B000FTLOL0/ref=pd_cp_e_2_img

Oh yeah and i currently use a Linksys wrt54gs but I also tried using a wrt100 but neither could get a signal to my xbox.

Yes a wireless repeater should work and the WRT54GS is a excellent 802.11g router.
Try it and see if it works

My apartment (1200sqft) has thick metal studs and 802.11g interferes with the signal with clients only 10 meters away.

A 802.11n router/ethernet bridge combo on the 2.4Ghz band would be almost guaranteed to work because it has exceptional range and much more bandwdith, but it is expensive – $60 for the new router and $90 or more for the bridge that plugs into the xbox

I would NOT recommend a powerline kit because you house is so old.
