Does anyone know how to resolve problems with acquiring an ip address via a Belkin Wireless Router?
I recently purchased a Belkin wireless router and while it works ok but after periods of non use it has problems acquiring an IP address.
My computer can connect to the wireless modem fine and then tries to acquire an IP address, at which point it can’t and therefore can’t establish an internet connection.
The same computer connects to the internet without problem when using a LAN cable.
Has anyone got any one got any ideas on what could be causing the problem?
The cause of the problem is probably interference messing with the wireless signal. It can be caused by cordless phones and neighbors routers. Try changing the channel of the router on the first page that comes up or in hte wireless settings. Also make sure you have done the latest update for your model in the firmware. If that still does not solve the problem, may be failure. It happens to all brands straight out of the box, just some more than others.
