Wireless disconnects?
I recently bought a new laptop with a wireless router (connected to a DSL modem) for roaming around the house without an Ethernet cable hanging from the laptop. The problem is that I keep getting disconnected every 15 minutes (there, I guess). This seriously destroys my downloads, prevents the performance of my games (and killed many others, because they require a constant connection), and AIM … well, you get the point. Also I have a connection very strong around the house, which made me perplexed by the answer to my problem. How do I stop the disconnection from happening all the time? For a solution time to solve the problem of downloading, I have GetRight! help me resume downloads, but that's it. The Wireless Router is a "Belkin Wireless G Router" with a range of 400 feet, 2.4 GHz, 54 Mbps, and supports 802.11b / g. The wireless adapter laptop is a "Atheros AR5005G Wireless Network Adapter" which also is 2.4 GHz, 54 Mbps, and supports 802.11b / g.
Some things can interfere. One of the most common is that you have other devices or wireless microwave communication. A microwave discontinued its service in the event that a direct view of the router or really close. Wireless phones also can. In general it is better to have your wireless phone within a range higher than the wireless router. Because your router is 2.4GHz – 5.8GHz phone is a great job. I had this same problem when I updated my phone was fine. The only other thing I can think of is that your network card is configured to obtain an address IP (which is mandatory for all Internet communications) from your router very often. Typically, these are set for the renovations as 3 days and if used, is not disconnected – So I think it is more likely that the above issues.
