Internet wi-fi?
I am buying an older iMac for personal use. I want to do internet, I found an ad for a Ativa ™ Wireless Cable / DSL Router with 4-Port Switch. It's only $ 25. My Mac says I'm going to buy an Airport card that supports but does not come with one. BTW: It's an iMac G3. I know it's pretty old and stuff, but still, I need to get another computer. What do I need to connect to the Internet, and how? Thank you. 10 points to best answer
This is what you do. You need an Internet service provider (ISP) and some tools to connect to the Internet: • ISP. An ISP provides Internet access. You sign up for an account with an ISP as we do for phone service or utilities. • Hardware. For a broadband connection such as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) or cable, you need a DSL or cable modem. This is usually included as part of the implementation teams from your ISP when you sign up for a broadband account. For a dial-up connection, you need a dial-up modem. Many computers come with this type of modem is already installed. Good luck.
