What wireless system is best for a PC? A Mac?
We have high speed cable. I’d like to have a system that enables me to hook up direct from the cable cord on the wall (need router?). Also, I’d like it to be able to support ADSL should i want to switch over at some point. Any suggestions? I’m looking at Linksys (what’s the difference btw wireless ‘N’ or ‘G’), Dlink and Apple airport extreme base station.
From my experience, the Linksys APs tend to die very quickly….. Cheap hardwdare…. I have had good luck with D Link….
Now most laptops support B &G wireless….. N is not supported since the standards have not been finallized as of yet by IEEE…. “N” wireless is a new version with much higher speeds but from what I heard it is incompatible with B & G since it used multiple radio frequencies to get the data transported where as B & G only use a single radio frequency….
I hope the above helps…. I would recommend G wireless access point….
Most Macs support B and G also….
