What would be the best Wireless Router for a Macbook Pro?
I’ve been having trouble with connectivity issues on my MBP and I believe it is an issue of compatiblity between it and my Sparklan wireless router. Instead of receiving a full 4 bar icon, it shows just 3, and takes forever to load pages. Full pages can only be seen after refreshing many times in the browser.
Other times when I’m using the MBP in someone else’s house with a different brand of router, it works perfectly.
What are the other brands out there that work well with the MBP and what doesn’t? I am deciding on replacing the old router.
D-Link DiR-655 got a PC Mag Editors Choice Award. It also beats AirPorts in a head to head bandwidth and range test. Cost is $100. It’s IEEE 802.11 draft 2.0 n and Wi-Fi compliant. It has Gigabit ports for WAN and Ethernet.
Source has performance chart from Smallnetbuilder.
Linksys and Airport Extreme are faster. They both cost considerably more.
