Upstairs I have a linksys WRT54GS v5 router, and I get horrible connection in my basement, where the desktop. My father recently baught a d-link dir-615 wireless n router to put in the basement. "I can connect an Ethernet cable from the linksys to the dlink and be able connecting (or use a wireless connection) connection to the d-link to make it as a repeater or extender? im experience with computers / win xp / vista. but I am new to networking. (Learn how to wire things but I'm not sure with the firmware. If you work, how can I set it over with?

I think it would Cable Modem <-> router WAN port above port 1,2,3, or4 <router upstairs -> port 1,2,3, or4 ground floor Configure router router for DHCP and automatically floor should extend the range of IP router upstairs. Then try to connect to a router down. You may have to change the wireless channel on the router downstairs so it tends to interfere with an upstairs. To enter settings of the router, 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.2.1 depending the model of router. Set IP web browser.
