How to hook up a D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G Wireless router DI-624?
A neighbor gave me one of these routers but he is 82 years old and doesn’t know the password. I have pressed the reset button numerous times and typed in the default username and passwords (when I go to 192.168.0.1) that I have found online (admin/blank, admin/admin, and admin/password) and it keeps telling me that the password is incorrect. My taskbar says that it is connected to the network, but it does not get an IP address so I cannot do anything.
Please help! I am very knowledgeable with computers, just not networking. I can find an IP address and such. I have DSL going into the router. I have Verizon DSL. The lights on the router blink normally when it is connected.
OK, I should have said that I have held the reset button for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 seconds. The lights blink saying that it did reset.
Also, it is revision or version C3.
You did not say what REV letter you had of this Router.

And you have done a reset with power on, push button with paperclip 10 seconds, wait for lights to stop flashing.
You appear to have attempted the correct method of entering the unit from your browser. But if the password doesn’t work …. ??
Can you tell if in fact the unit is resetting? If not that could be the problem. Try the reset when at the login screen so you can see it reset. Also, make sure you hold that button down at least 10 seconds. Do not unplug the router during this.
Then try again.
If it still doesn’t work you have a nice paperweight. The unit is End of Life for D-Link. They don’t support anymore.
