Ethernet Cable/Router Help Urgent!?

So recently, I moved rooms. I took my computer with me and took the D-Link DWA-110 Wireless Adapter since my room had the WGR614 Netgear Router. Previous to using the adapter, I accessed the internet with a simple Ethernet Cable plugged into port 1 of the router. My little brother got my room so he took his computer with him as well. His is a little older, say, 6+ years old. Seeing as I took his Wireless Adapter, I tried connecting my Ethernet Cable to his computer. Nothing happened. I tried messing around with the settings (Create New Connection, Connect To Network, etc.) although nothing worked. If you guys/girls =D could help me out, it would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

P.S Sorry for the big chunk. x]
