How I can set a password for my wireless router?

I can not seem to find out how to put a password on my wireless router. I had the same router for 3 or 4 years. So far I have not felt the need to put a password on my internet, but I finally decided to set one up. I'm using a D-Link AirPlus Extreme G wireless router. The model number is DI-624. I have read the answers to many similar questions, but after following the advice provided I ran into trouble. After entering "192.168.0.1" in the address bar, a dialog appears. Everything I've read so far tells me that I write "Admin" as username and leave the password blank, but when I do I say that I've entered the wrong username and / or password. Where do you go from here? Not sure if this would matter, but I'm using an Apple MacBook Pro

The default user name and pass for the D-Link 624 is Username: Password Administrator: . It appears that you have set in the past (maybe when you run the setup wizard CD years ago) and do not just remember. So your have to restart the router with the small reset button on the back, press on the use of a pencil or a pin and make sure that the router is turned on when you reboot. After restoring profitability to the factory defaults. Sometimes a fresh start is good anyway so good luck.
