d-link wireless router login ip

Configuring the I.P. address of a Wireless Access Point?

I’ve got a D-Link wireless router that I’m trying to turn into an access point and hook up to my wired router. To do this, one of the instructions says,

“Change the LAN IP address to an available address on your network. The LAN ports on the router cannot accept a DHCP address from your other router.”

I have no clue what this means. What can I change the I.P. and submask to? Do I really need to? All I know is that I followed the rest of the instructions and the router login page isn’t working at the default address.

Please help!

if you have internet explorer, open it up (doesnt matter if its not connected) click on TOOLS, the on INTERNET OPTIONS, click on the CONNECTIONS tab, click on LAN SETTINGS and make sure the AUTOMATICALLY DETECT SETTINGS box is checked then click OK. make sure that the software is properly installed. it just be easier to just go with the single wireless router than both the wire and wifi.
