d-link wireless router network card
I know how to connect wireless to router. But this PC’s wireless is “acquiring network address” all day!! HELP?

I have my laptop, pda, another pc connected to the router without a problem. I know my password and everything.

this one particular computer I am helping someone clean up a bit is acting strange. The network (wireless pci card by d-link) is correctly installed. It shows signal strength coming from my router (very high) but it just keep “acquiring network address ” all day. The speed is at 1mbps. Dont know what to do. there are no new software for xp. It should work. any suggestion?

You probably typed the password incorrectly. But look again at your router settings. Password is the word that generates a KEY. You want to use the KEY when you connect to your router. You might even use a simplier wireless security scheme like WEP.

Good luck
