d-link wireless router no power or status
My D-Link 524 router and Westell 6100 modem can’t connect to the internet!?

First of all, I want two desktop computers to both connect to the internet. But It doesn’t work! It says limited or no connectivity. I can only connect to one desktop computer only with the Westell 6100 modem cable plugged directly into the computer.
On the DI-524 wireless router
Lights that are green:
Power, Status, WAN, 1, 2. (WAN is blinking)
The WLAN isn’t on.
Why can’t it connect to both PC computers?
Nevermind. It worked now. Thanks anyways for the answers..

Hi,

what you need to do is connect your D-Link WAN port to the westell 6100.

after that login to the D-Link router Web Interface to configure the router WAN.

to log in to the router. connect one machine to the LAN port of the D-Link.

after that go to your machine and do the following:

click start > run > type “cmd” without “”
on the DOS prompt type: ipconfig /all
example: c:\ipconfig /all

write down the IP address and default gateway.

If you don’t get a default gateway, you are not connecting to the Router.

now minimize the DOS prompt and open Internet Explorer.

in the address bar type http://default-gateway. example http://192.168.1.254

enter the user name and pwd for the router.

click on WAN and make sure it stays active or connected. if not, configure the wan acording to your ISP (Internet Service Provider).

after that you should be good to go.
