Why every while my D-link router stops working and what should I do?

I am using the wireless system in my house and everything while my connection discunected.I I get internet using wireless PCI Lynksys card.Dont think the problem is between lynksys and router D-link??. By the way my connection Internet is SBC Yahoo DSL. shows I'm connected to my computer but in reality I am not

What channel are you using? Most of the default routers 1, 6 and 11. Periodic disconnections generally means the interference from other wireless nodes, wireless phones, or microwave ovens. Cordless phones tend to affect fewer channels, while microwave ovens create noise in the higher channels. Try Channel 4 or less and see if you have the same problem, check what channels others are using wireless and see if you can correlate the interruptions with the phone or use the oven.
