DSL Line – How to get a new IP address? (Modem + Wireless Router configuration)?
Hello Yahoo! respondents. I'm pretty experienced the power of users, but I'm out of ideas on this, and hope to hear some suggestions. I am using a fixed land line ADSL2 service, which are provided through a () of Siemens Speedstream 4200 modem, connected to a wireless router (D-Link DIR-300). Connect 2 wireless laptops. Want a new IP address "on demand" in the past (different country, different ISP) may disconnect and reconnect to use the modem / router configuration page of http://10.1.1.1. New IP issued, no problem. Now when I try and not get a new IP. Tried turning off the power and / or modem telephone lines to get any IP. No luck, my public IP remains the same. I talked to my ISP, I am definitely under dynamic IP and support women in India said something about a "time-out '. I have already tried: 1) release DHCP / relocate (router page configuration) 2): ipconfig / release: Any idea?
I have the same problem with my ISP from time to time. I have no useful advice for you, but wait a day and trying to reload an IP. I have NO static IP service either, and I've noticed the same thing. It makes me wonder if ISP have somehow manipulated their MAC address systems to read and re-issue the same IP address to help track down spammers.
