d-link wireless router wbr 1310 help

I need help..i got a new notebook and we connected our router to our main desktop that has Yahoo DSL but now..

every 30 min or so our router slows down and kills our internet conection ” D-link wireless G router WBR-1310″ i was just reading the reviews and everyone says this router sucks! ******! so im off to the store and returning it..but now i want to know how can i connect my desk top computer that has dsl..so my laptop? There both in diff sides of the house..wondering if i can just take a ethernet cable? and hook them up or is it harder then it sounds? please anyone have step by step instructions?

You can trade that router for a Linksys WRT54GS wireless router and connect the desktop straight to the router and connect your laptop via wireless connection.
