d-link wireless router with printer port
Home networking with two routers?

I have 2 routers in my home network. router

1- hardwire only, Router

2 – a wireless D-link. Router 1 is connected to my cable modem and one its 4 LAN ports is connected to the WAN port on router

2. The 3 computers to router one can see each other and share files and printers fine, however I cannot get any computer connecting through router 2 to see any computer on router 1 or the other way around. All computer connect to internet just fine. I tried to disable DHCP on router 2 but it had no effect. I also tried to connect the ethernet line to the LAN port instead of the WAN port but this only disabled internet access to all computers on router 2. How can i configure this so all computers connected to both routers can see each other and sh

Do you have a firewall that you can add the IP addresses from all trusted and internet computers?

Generally connecting a wireless router to a wired router turns the wireless router into an access point only and not all of the functions of a normal wired router.

You might want to get a switch or hub and place it on your main wired router and plug all your PCs into that except for those that you need the wireless connection.

Try experimenting some more after you get the switch/hub.

Good Luck!
