How I can get my wireless key again?

I have a Cisco Linksys Wireless Router. My dad and I created ourselves, given the password, and wrote the key. I recently got a new laptop and when I try to access the network, tells me I need the key. We have lost the job was scored the. Is there a way I can get the key again? If so, how?

The center this will give you step guide on how to obtain an encryption key or network key and others often refer to as the network password. If you can not remember or know the password of your wireless network all you need to do is to access the configuration page of your Linksys router to check the network key there. These are the steps on how to get a network key for your wireless network; Step 1. Access the router configuration page. To access the router configuration page I recommend you use the computer that is directly connected the router. If you do not have a computer with connection cable to temporarily connect your computer wirelessly to any Ethernet port on the back of the router (marked 1, 2, 3, and 4). Then open your router configuration page of your router, for this just open the browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox) and type http://192.168.1.1/ address bar (this is the username and default password for the router) and click Go or press Enter. You will be prompted for a user name and password, by default the router does not have a user name so just leave that field blank and type "admin" as password. If you changed the password router, then log on using your password to access the router. Note: If you changed the router IP address instead use the default IP address above. Step 2. Check the wireless security. Once in the router configuration page, click the Wireless tab the top of the page. Once on the Wireless tab, just below the word Wi-Fi click the sub tab that wireless security. On this page you view the security mode. If its security mode is set to WEP (64 bits or 128 bits) which will have four sets of keys available. To find the key to search default use transmit (Tx) key, if your default transmit key is set to 1, then use the key in Network key 1 to connect to the wireless network. Now if the security mode is WPA (Personal / Pres-Shared Key / PSK) that is within the shared key or WPA pass phrase / key box personal network is key for your network wireless. So now you know the network and that you need, will now be able to connect to your wireless network and get online wirelessly. I hope this has helped to. For more help: http://www.iyogi.net/
