Router has password but can connect without entering it?
I have a linksys router and I set up a secure password I know that cause when I use my wireless laptop to connect it has a lock next to the name but when I try to login with 192.168.1.1 or whatever the number is all I have to do is enter admin as the password. Doesn’t that mean it’s not protected ? I’m afriad other people will use my internet since it’s so easy to access.
There are actually two passwords for these routers. One is for administrative functions… admin the other is for your wireless security.. They can be the same but you have to set both.
Log back into the router.. go to admin and change the default password (which is admin) to something else.. It can be a security issue but not too much of one unless you have forwarded some ports!
