Does it do any harm to my wireless router if i continually cut it off and on ?
I have a linksys wireless G broadband router that is hooked up to a DSL Modem and sometimes i have problems whenever i am trying to sign in to youtube or signing up for a new you tube account and i would get messages like we require SMS verfication with a mobile phone number and what i would do is cut off my router for 1 minute and turn it back on. I cut my router off and on at least 6 times a day because i have problems signing up for a you tube account. But everytime when i cut it off it gives me a new IP address and i am able to make a new youtube account, however my sister is bugging me because she believes i will damage our router if i continue to do this. Would it damage my router if i do this ?? I’m only doing it to get a new IP address so i could make a new youtube account and i have AT&T DSL Service. I cut off both the router and the DSL modem whenever i cut it off.
