Wardriving / Wireless Security question?
I have been studying wardriving and wireless security for educational purposes, but there is a seemingly simple thing that I have not been able to find the answer anywhere. From what I understand, many routers have a default password, and there are plenty of lists of passwords available default. However, I have not been able to find a way to access with a password by default. For example, say a router is broadcasting its SSID as Linksys, one might think that this is a linksys router with a default admin / admin password. However, how does one go about actually accessing this router? When entering the IP address of the router, should not be done from a computer you are currently connected to the network. Like you have to connect to an open network and then access the router? If so, is it possible to access a router running WEP encryption, or should be ignored in the first place?
You have to type the IP address. It is usually 192.168.0.1 or 0.100 of them.
