Want to connect 2 wireless routers 1 dedicated to games or Slingbox?
I want a wireless router to manage their own ssid xbox alone or Slingbox, another wireless router to manage other ssid 4 laptops. The linksys g router I have now does not work good enough to use a computer notebook and a laptop Other / Slingbox, Slingbox slows too much distortion and delay xbox too. Want to buy the Belkin N1 router. Need help with the best solution for my situation. I have yahoo dsl, and I thought maybe I should buy another modem, DSL, and have a router connected to each. I really need The Slingbox and Xbox to be less restricted. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
First, it would switch from DSL to cable (sometimes twice as fast). You can connect two routers, but realize that your wireless connection is much faster than the Internet connection to go from saying that a router G to a N router NOT the speed of your Internet connection. Only accelerate the transfer speed of the intranet. I would make sure you have the required port settings set in the router. Visit the game site (EA for example) to find out which ports should have unrestricted access to its games to soften. Same with the Slingbox, if allowed unrestricted access to these ports in your firewall, especially if a firewall is stateful packet inspection, do not have to slow down traffic to ensure is valid.
