Mainly it depends on your laptops wireless card. To change router settings go to your internet browser and type in your IP address, for most people its “192.168.1.1″. To login to your router type”admin” into both the username and password. Go to the wireless tab and select basic wireless setup. for network mode: mixed. Wireless channel: 2.437GHZ. Enable SSID broadcast. In Wireless Security enable it if you feel necessary. Dissable MAC filter in the Wireless MAC Filter. In advanced wireless settings select auto or default for Authentication Type, basic rate, and transmission rate.
Beacon interval: 100
DTIM Interval: 1
Fragmentation threshold: 2346
RTS Threshold: 2347
AP Isolation: off
SecureEasySetup: enable
Now go the administration tab at the top right of the screen and enable UPnP. That should just about do it. Just make sure to save those settings when youre done. Then unplug your router, wait 30 seconds, then plug it back in and try to connect to the wireless with your laptop.
