linksys wireless router encryption instructions

10pts to best networking answer!!!?

I have a Linksys wrt54g router and a linksys wireless gaming adapter attached to my XBOX 360. I realized that my connection has been running slow lately and I’m suspecting one of my neighbors is feeding off my internet. I tried to set up a simple WEP 64bit 10 hex security encryption but now my adapter on my XBOX 360 can’t connect to my router. How do i fix this problem???
It would be nice if you gave me a website that gave me step by step instructions or you do that your self or give me some sort of contact so you can help me with this with less restrictions perhaps over the phone.
PLEASE!!! If you had XBOX LIVE and a bad connection you know how desperate I am to get a good one!!!

You need to find the network name to connect to on your 360 (you would have created a name for your network when you set up the router and the encryption), and enter the encrypted pass code (the hex numbers) that you set up on your router in order for your network to allow access to your 360. This is exactly WHY you added the encryption on your routers network, so that devices can’t access it without the key. I have done this but I have 128 bit encryption (much longer key!!!) It’s a pain, but you should only have to do it once.
