Wireless Router Question?

I bought a eHome wireless router. My room-mate hooked it up to his computer. I have a Linksys G card in my computer.
All worked well for about 2 minutes until he decided to put on a 128 bit encryption. Now I can’t connect. I have tried everthing for about 13 hours and still cannot connect. Something about a key word. Which part of the encryption is the key word? He claims he did not enter a key word. Do I have to do anything to my computer to sync it with the router. Do I have to run the disk in my computer that came with the router? If it were this difficult to install, they wouldn’t be selling these things like hot cakes! Let’s just say I’m retarded. Can someone give me a simple step by step configuration process here? I could sure use it. In closing, my computer does show the existance of a eHome router and all the bars are lit up. There is a lock on it. My room-mate is hard wired into the router. Does he need this security or is it just me.

I agree, your roommate turned on the security feature in the router (since it’s 128 bit encryption it’s more than likely WPA or WPA2). all you need is the password associated with the security feature. You need to reset the router and log into 192.168.1.1 (default NAT IP for commercial routers) and reconfigure it with a password of your own (since it is YOUR router)…..then I’d talk to your roommate about locking you out of your own router!
