linksys wireless router freezes computer

by admin on March 14, 2010

My internet keeps randomly freezing?

Wired or wireless, no matter what I’m doing on any of the 3 computers in the house. All go through a Linksys WRT54G router. Reseting my Cable Modem from the ISP and reseting the router has done nothing. Any suggestions? I’ve looked for any and ever option in configuration. (192.168.1.___, etc in Go bar)
Not to be rude, but none of these answers take into account that 3 totally different computers (2 others on ethernet cable, 1 on wireless) have the same issue.

Mine was doing the same thing a few days ago and I did a few things that helped. I’m not 100 percent sure which helped the most because I did them one after another 1. Run your virus scan. Viruses worms etc can cause freeze ups. 2. Clean out your temporary internet files, browsing history and cookies, again all these things can bring you to a halt. 3. Check to see how many background programs you have running. adding too many things running at the same time (multiple virus programs, programs like limewire, etc) will freeze you up too. Hope this helps!! ******************* EDIT if one computer contracted a virus any other computers on your network could have become infected through file sharing
