FTP?? .. What is the best … The most convenient?
im running Windows XP Home Edition im looking for a way .. I understand that FTP is not is the most easy to configure routers and firewalls, different operating system, etc … so I realize the complexity .. I'm looking for someone who could give an intuitive step by step tutorial or other resources useful for someone running: 1) Windows XP 2) has a Linksys wireless router thanks!
What want to do with FTP? Client or server? On the client side, WinXP has "Network Places" that can be configured to connect using FTP. I use server side Xitami. Configuring the server requires port opening 23 of its external IP and light through your router to your server, and dealing with a dynamic IP which is very likely that whatever it is. A step by step tutorial is more difficult than just doing it. It will need much more information and the time and effort. I can collect from friends and family $ 30/hour.
