Can I use a wireless router if you have broadband internet connection broadband?

i was going to Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with SpeedBooster Technology idk but it will work w / o broadband internet! HELP ME! This would be for my Ipod Touch or my Wii by the way this would be to my iPod Touch or my Wii BTW

You can use to connect computers together at home with broadband broadband, but no internet. If you have any pc's and want to run multiplayer games, share files, printers etc, then fine.
