Connection 2 routers wirelessly?

My question is i have linksys wrt54g wireless router and linksys wrtp54g wireless router is there an anyway to connect these together? 1st router is connected to internet and wired to my pc and second router will be downstairs hardwired to my second pc but i want second pc to connect internet wirelessly thru my first router which is upstairs. Is this possible can second router be step up in a way so it access to internet thru first router and my second pc can get access to internet thru that second router. I know its kinda confusing but i searched for access point answer but couldnt really figure out if anyone out there has this knowledge and can guide me thru this problem i would appreciate it. Ty

Unless you can set the second router in “AP Client” or “WDS” mode, they will not talk to each other wirelessly.
There are some third party routers that can do those modes, but most box-store routers cannot.
Linksys does make a AP Client box, called a WAP54G.
I use:

There are others on Ebay most of the time that look similar, just make sure they support AP Client, WDS, or bridging modes. Those are key words that mean the router is quite flexible.

I’ve seen people convert the wrt54g with third-party firmware (DD-WRT) that can make it work like a AP Client. Not sure about the other model.
