Linksys wireless router running very slow …?
Tech support is no help. My linksys me says I'm connected to 54 Mbps, but the pages are taking so long to load … You might also have telephone access. We have 5 computers and 4 are wireless and the problem began today. He re and restart all shut down 4 of 5 of them and tried to just one. All my settings appear ok. I'm running WEP security enabled connection. Even the desktop is wired as doing, is wired through the router. It is a Linksys WRT54G v.3. Anything I can do?? Have you tried the "repair" feature, to no avail. Only one neighbor in range and have their own wireless system, plus mine has a security key.
full power cycle. 1-turn off ALL equipment. 2 – remove power from both your router and cable modem 3 unscrew the COAX cable going into the modem wait 5 min 4-5-on cable modem 6 after seeing some light intermittent cable modem, screw on coaxial cable (this throw a fresh sign of the line) 7 – wait until the modem is fully booted (all and green lights) 8-9-plug router power on 1 pc and check if everything works well, the power in a single PC at a time. if that fails, remove the router, connect 1 PC in the modem cable directly. if still slow cable modem seizes him, or more likely, your PC is infected.
