Why I can not connect my laptop to wireless router, even with the correct password?
Recently I had to get my laptop completely wiped out and taken back to factory settings, I can not connect to the wireless network of my family. I have full signal strength and the correct password, but you get stuck on "identifying," "acquiring IP" or goes straight to the "limited connectivity ". When I went to our home pc to find out, I'm told the CD that comes with the router. The only cd that came with my (linksys) is the router to configure a reality router … but I do not want it to be connected to my computer. I have the encryption key, and basically any other information about the network, but I just can not connect. any help is appreciated, as I (obviously) have no idea what I'm doing.
As Tom said, restart the router. As with all Linksys routers, where For the head browser to http://192.168.1.1 user name, leave the password blank, enter "admin" without quotes. Go to section Wireless router and look around as password. I'm not sure but it is possible under "Security." Hope this helps: D
