how do i install my linksys wireless router?
HI, I have a problem with my linksys wireless g broadband router version 2. I don’t know how to set up my wireless router without a CD. I really need help, can someone pls. tell me a step-by-step process on how to do it. Thanks in advance.
1) If you have not installed anything with linksys’s cd previously…you are in good shape…otherwise remove any at this time
2) Plug in and power up WIRELESS router.
3) Boot up wireless device and or a computers connected via ETHERNET. IE LAPTOP, ETC
4) With your computer, even laptop, connect via Ethernet to your ROUTER, access your ROUTER via Internet explorer or something else you use by typing into your address bar “192.168.1.1″ maybe something else depending on your router, but that’s usually what it is for linksys…then if prompted for USERNAME AND PW…try “admin” for both…if not…(no ” “, ” ” used to show what goes in box”
6) once inside your router, look at your “SSID” aka wireless network’s name and Passcode/phrase/WEP Key, ETC…
7) Connect your Internet MODEM to your WIRELESS router. Ethernet Cords are more compatible, but USB can allow for MASSIVE DATA DUMPING = GOOD
go onto wireless device now and search for your wireless network and then connect to it by entering in your passcode/phrase/wep key/etc
9) you are now free to browse the web…all other problems…you are going to have to contact LINKSYS…or you could try here again ^^
