linksys wireless router install instructions

I have a Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router WRT54GS model I need help?

I followed the instructions I put the CD in first, and I did what I had to do I'm now in this part when they say to install router on the morning of 4 / 4 goes on to say that your router i cannot find cable connected to your router keeps saying error 322 please help

remove the ethernet cable from your computer to connect to the router in another Ethernet cable to plug one of the 4 external ports and plug the other end into the computer. IMPORTANT. Do not run the set up cd yet, turn off the modem and router, then boot the modem finally power on the router, finally run the cd tuning
